Membership Types and Privileges

The types of memberships CNEW carries are listed below as well as their rights and privileges. All dues-paying members are expected to remit the current membership dues upon initial application or within 30 days of expiration of prior membership. All memberships expire on the last day of the year (i.e. December 31st) except Life Members whose membership carries forward in perpetuity.

Each member holding the office of President, Vice President, Treasurer or Secretary must also hold a current membership in the AAW as required by AAW in order for the club to be covered under the AAW's liability insurance policy.

   

Membership Types are:  

Primary (P)
Family (F)
Life (L)
Student (S)
Honorary (H)

Primary (P)

A Primary member of a household who must pay dues. They have all club rights and privileges and are allowed to have up to four immediate family members enrolled as Family members.

Will receive all club communications.

Family (F)

A non dues-paying member of Primary or Life sponsoring member. Must be either a) a Spouse of the sponsor residing at the same address b) a Dependent of the sponsor under the age of 21 residing at the same address or c) a Dependent of the sponsor under the age of 21 years who is enrolled in an educational institution regardless of their residence.

May actively participate in club events or shows but have no voting rights or other privileges, unless they hold a current office whereby they are granted full member rights and privileges provided they are at least 18 years of age. 

Does not generally receive club communications.

Life (L)

Same as Primary but is considered as having dues paid for life.

This level of membership is extremely exalted and is only granted by vote of the membership to individuals who have contributed greatly to the benefit of the club.

Student (S)

Any person under the age of 21 years at the time of application may pay 1/2 regular dues for membership regardless of whether or not they are in fact enrolled in any academic programs.

Receives all member privileges but has no voting rights and cannot serve as an officer.

Honorary (H)

Complimentary membership awarded to a person by the president, who in consideration of reasons deemed suitable is believed deserving of such.

This is a non-dues paying membership valid for the current year and has no voting rights or privileges, is not offered Family member privileges, but does receive club communications.
